Our client is a
privately owned highly entrepreneurial family run business.
Although strictly speaking, it is actually two businesses!
Two separate companies, each with its own unique identity and
product portfolio: both acting as UK Distributors for innovative high
technology leading edge products.
One company sells Coordinate Measuring Machines And Video
Microscopes the other, cutting edge full colour, multi-material, 3
Dimensional Printers. The
company is very successful at what it does and is as a consequence
‘bucking the trend’ of corporate belt tightening and expanding its
business to take advantage of the technological innovations and UK wide
demand for its products and services.
It has as a consequence and as part of its planned growth strategy
recently moved into new purpose built premises in the Derbyshire
countryside a few miles south of Derby city centre.
This appointment is a newly created role and is seen as fundamental
to their continued growth and success. Their
current marketing strategy can at best be described as ad-hoc.
Currently any and all marketing activities are initiated and
delivered by the MD. He has
however recognised that if a cohesive approach to marketing is to be
achieved and delivered it requires a dedicated professional.
Someone with recognised marketing qualifications supported by at
least 2 years broad marketing experience encompassing of all aspects of
the marketing mix. The
successful candidate will (in no particular order) be responsible for
maintaining two company websites, for the creation of marketing
collateral, managing the company’s PR agency, organising attendance at
various trade exhibitions in the UK, developing customer contact
strategies, direct mail marketing, the collation and interpretation of
market intelligence, and enquiry/lead generation.
The current marketing budget is £50,000 split equally between the
two companies: it is likely that as the business grows this budget will
increase, it is also envisaged that the successful incumbent will, in
time, rise to the role of Marketing Manager heading a fully functional
marketing department with support staff. You
must as an additional minimum requirement, be fully computer literate, and
familiar with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and DTP applications. If
you see this exciting and challenging role as the logical next step in
your already successful career we would like to hear from you.
